Smoked Tilapia Dip
If you’re worried about delicate fillets breaking apart, smoke them whole specifically to make this crowd-pleasing dip.
Time: 30 min smoke + 10 min assembly
Temp: 300°F / 150°C (Citrus method)
Wood: Alder or Apple
Ingredients
- Tilapia fillets (smoked via Citrus & Herb method)
- Cream cheese (softened)
- Sour cream
- Fresh dill
- Capers
- Shallots (minced)
- Hot sauce
- Crackers or sliced cucumber for serving
Method
Smoke fillets whole using the Classic Citrus & Herb method above. Let cool completely.
Post-Smoke Assembly
Flake the fish by hand. Mix with softened cream cheese, sour cream, fresh dill, capers, minced shallots, and a dash of hot sauce. Stir until combined but still chunky.
Serve
Chill for at least 20 minutes before serving. Best with crackers, celery, or sliced cucumber.
